More on My Background and Training

After receiving my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in 2012, I spent thirteen years at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy before entering independent practice. In addition to ongoing clinical responsibilities of providing individual and intensive integrative and cognitive-behavioral therapy to adults with a range of clinical issues and concerns at CICBT, I served as training and staff director to the practice.

I have had advanced training and supervision in the best practices for treatment for mood disorders, OCD, trauma and body-focused repetitive behaviors.

Prior to my tenure at CICBT, I trained at the Children’s National Medical Center in their Eating Disorders Unit, and in the counseling centers of both Howard University and George Mason University

I believe that our personal, cultural and environmental history matters deeply as we create our future with psychological strength and resilience. I am a native Philadelphian (West Philly, to be exact), I spent happy years in Oakland, California when I attended Mills College, and now feel deeply connected to my chosen city of Washington DC.
