Make Meaningful Change

Welcome to My Practice

I’m Dr. Jessica Nemeth, an experienced CBT-trained psychologist practicing in Washington DC. I help people recognize and change thought patterns and behaviors that limit their lives, with a warm and empathic style, using evidence-based treatments that work. I want my clients to make meaningful changes, and for our work together to produce positive and lasting results.

My clients gain a more compassionate and realistic understanding of themselves, as well as learning solid skills and strategies for improving their moods, habits, relationships and sense of purpose.

How I Help

As your therapist, I will work collaboratively with you to set goals for your therapy, and I view myself as your partner. I strive to create a non-judgmental, caring and connected therapeutic relationship, where we can work with good humor and deep respect for your values and background.

I practice from deep training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and integrate other evidence-based treatments, such as Exposure and Response Prevention, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am also well trained in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors (such as hair-pulling and skin-picking) with Combined Behavioral and Habit Reversal Treatment.

Location

I work primarily in person in my convenient and accessible Dupont Circle office, days and evenings, using virtual work flexibly as needed.
